Modern Science has found that some of the violet-blue light present in sunlight (in the range 415–430 nm) activates porphyry in acnes. This light damages and, ultimately, kills the acne bacteria by releasing singlet oxygen. This light therapy is called Light Emitting Diode (LED).
The light therapy is beneficial for all skin types, can be used for rejuvenating sun-damaged skin, healing the skin and is particularly effective in helping control inflammatory acne. The treatment is painless and recovery is instantaneous, without any down time. LED therapy requires several appointments, as the results are gradual. However, they increase with time and after each session. LED therapy can be used in combination with other procedures, such as Microdermabrasion, peels and dermal fillers.
The Blue Light treatment reduces acne bacteria and assists in reducing inflammation and breakouts of acne. The blue light treats acne at the source, creating an inhospitable environment for acne bacteria. This acne therapy is highly successful, especially in conjunction with prescription grade skin care.
The Red Light treatment, because of its longer wavelength, penetrates into the deeper skin layer, increasing the energy of the cells in your skin. This enables the skin to rejuvenate itself as its healing mechanism is activated. This non-thermal treatment reduces wrinkles, pore size and pigmentation to produce smoother, more youthful looking skin.
