Hand Rejuvenation with Dermal Fillers

Because our hands receive so much exposure, they are one of the first places to start showing visible signs of ageing. Natural ageing and excess, but often unavoidable, exposure to sunlight increases this ageing. The more common visible signs of ageing include darkened spots (age spots). A loss of fatty tissue also occurs, making our hands look bony.

Hand rejuvenation treatments can help restore the hands to a more youthful appearance. Various treatment options are available. Therefore, one treatment, or a combination, can be used to help achieve the desired appearance of youthful hands.

Because the skin on the back of the hands is extremely thin, the loss of fat padding on any level shows quickly. Take away that cushion and all the structures in the hand show up – the tendons, bones and the veins. Sun damage also plays a big part in the “ageing hand” syndrome. Given that our hands are nearly always routinely ignored when it comes to sunscreen – and they spend a considerable amount of time in the “driver’s seat” wrapped around a steering wheel – it’s no wonder they start showing their age earlier than the rest of our body.

The natural fat cushion that we’re born with begins to lessen in our late twenties and early 30’s. By the time most of us hit 50, we have hands that tell the truth about our age – and often they can actually make us seem older than we are!

We use dense, easy to mould fillers, for hand rejuvenation. Injected dermal fillers provide an instant cushion replacement with an established longevity of 12 to 18 months. The depressions between the tendons and veins are refilled so both the bony appearance and the vein prominences, as well as the dark colour of the veins, are reduced. Your hands have a softer, fuller appearance that signifies youth. We also use unique dermal fillers for hydration as well as Pelleve for hand rejuvenation and skin tightening.

This is a fast, simple procedure that literally converts older-looking hands to younger looking hands in about 15 minutes. The added lidocaine temporarily numbs the area. The treatment usually requires 2 syringes of fillers: 1 for each hand.

In addition to dermal fillers good hand rejuvenation may require a combination of additional, supporting procedures such as:
Microdermabrasion/ Vibradermabrasion
Chemical Peel
Intense Pulsed Light
Medical Grade Skin care
